Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Motorhome Compare respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use our website (motorhomecompare.co.uk), what we do with it, and what rights you have.

Please read it carefully. It explains how and why we pass your details to insurance firms, which is the main purpose of our quotation service.

1. Who we are

motorhomecompare.co.uk is operated by Multiquotetime Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 14048779. Registered office: Floor 2, 50 Princes Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 1RJ.

Multiquotetime Ltd is the controller responsible for your personal data (referred to as “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy).

What we do, and what we do not do

Multiquotetime Ltd is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Policy Link Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA FRN: 916480). For caravan insurance we introduce you to Adrian Flux Insurance Services Group, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 307071).

We do not provide advice, we do not make recommendations, and we do not arrange insurance ourselves. We introduce you to an authorised firm, who then deals with your quotation directly.

Marketing

We will only send you marketing or renewal reminders if you have asked us to. You can stop them at any time by emailing privacy@motorhomecompare.co.uk or using the unsubscribe link in any message we send.

We will not share your personal data with any third party for that third party’s own marketing purposes without your express opt-in consent.

Withdrawing consent

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.

Please note that once your details have been passed to an insurance firm, that firm becomes responsible for the data they hold, and you would need to contact them directly as well.

5. Who we share your personal data with

This is the core of our service. When you ask for a quotation, your details go to an FCA authorised firm so that they can provide it. Which firm depends on the product:

  • Caravan insurance: when you complete the caravan quotation form on our website, we pass the details you have given us to Adrian Flux Insurance Services Group (FCA FRN 307071), who will contact you by telephone and/or email.
  • Motorhome insurance: when you start a motorhome quotation, you are taken to a quotation system provided through Policy Link Limited (FCA FRN 916480). The details you enter there are passed to one or more FCA authorised insurance brokers so they can contact you with a quotation. The privacy notice shown on that quotation system also applies.

We also use service providers who process data on our instructions only. These fall into the following categories:

  • Website hosting and website security providers
  • Backup providers
  • Website analytics providers
  • Email delivery providers

We may also disclose your data where we are legally required to do so, including to the Financial Conduct Authority, HM Revenue & Customs, law enforcement, or in connection with the prevention of fraud.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not permit our service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers, such as our analytics providers, may store or process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we ensure a similar degree of protection is applied by relying on an approved safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data security

We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We limit access to those who have a business need to know.

We have procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where we are legally required to do so.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it for, including to meet any legal, regulatory, tax or accounting requirements.

Quotation enquiries are retained for 24 months, after which they are deleted. That period covers a renewal cycle and the window in which a complaint or query might arise.

We may keep data for longer where there is an unresolved complaint, or where we reasonably believe there is a prospect of a legal claim.

9. Your legal rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your data, which is what this policy is for
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification: have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your data where there is no good reason for us to keep it
  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • Data portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it
  • Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling

To exercise any of these, email privacy@motorhomecompare.co.uk.

You will not have to pay a fee. We may charge a reasonable fee, or refuse, if a request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. We may ask for information to confirm your identity before we act, to make sure personal data is not disclosed to anyone who has no right to receive it.

We aim to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. If a request is complex, or you have made several, it may take longer and we will let you know.

10. Cookies, analytics and affiliate links

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to make it work, to keep it secure, and to understand how it is used. You can review and change your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie settings link on our website.

  • Analytics: we use Clicky to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed and for how long.
  • Affiliate links: some of our product guides contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may use cookies to record that you came from our website, so that we can be paid a commission. This does not affect the price you pay. Each retailer’s own privacy policy applies once you are on their website.

You can also set your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when a site sets one. If you disable cookies, some parts of this website may not work properly.

11. Third-party links

Our website may include links to third-party websites. Clicking those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their privacy policies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first at privacy@motorhomecompare.co.uk so we have the chance to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

13. Changes to this policy

We keep this policy under review and will publish any updates on this page. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes.
